We are proud to announce that on Friday, June 22nd, Dr. Patricia Calayag, Westmed Deputy Medical Director and Director of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Greenwich Hospital, will be honored at the Greenwich Hospital Under the Stars Gala for her work as a leader in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.
Her scope of practice includes general obstetrics and gynecology, both high-and low-risk pregnancies with special interest in fertility, laparoscopy and adolescent to menopausal medicine.
In an interview with the Greenwich Hospital team, Dr. Calayag said “I have the privilege of engaging in both clinical and administrative policy through my roles as Chairwoman at Greenwich Hospital, Deputy Medical Director at Westmed”. She notes that she feels very lucky to have these intimate clinical experiences with patients and be present during one of the most important moments of their lives. “To have such an integral role in bringing a new life into the world is extremely satisfying.” Over the course of her 23 year career, Dr. Calayag has delivered approximately 3,000 babies, and counting!
She is also excited to hold leadership roles that have a broader impact not only on the individual, but also on population health. “We are working on satisfying the needs of our community in the safest way possible and trying to make lives better for the patients, doctors and staff,” she said. “It’s a new opportunity to learn – I feel like I’m still learning, which is always nice,” she said of working to improve quality, outcomes and the patient experience.
“It’s amazing to work at Greenwich Hospital and Westmed, where you have a coterie of fantastic people as colleagues. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by such smart clinical staff each day.”
Congratulations again, Dr. Calayag! We are proud of your accomplishments and honored to have you as our Deputy Medical Director, tirelessly supporting our team on our mission of providing comprehensive, lifelong care for the patients we serve.
