Free Creative Expression Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors

Free Creative Expression Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors

Westmed has added a Creative Expression Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors to its Calendar of Events. It’s a FREE eight-session series of classes to be held on Saturday mornings at Westmed’s office at 1 Theall Road in Rye.   Each week will focus on positive, artistic projects including journaling, drawing, collage work, painting and more. See below for upcoming workshop dates:

Sessions will be held in the conference room on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on:

Sept 15|Nov 17|Jan 12|Feb 9|Mar 9|Apr 13|May 11|Jun 8

The workshop sessions will also offer a safe space to discuss treatment issues, recovery, long-term effects, and the many ways that breast cancer affects a woman’s emotional landscape, physical appearance and sense of femininity.

The facilitator of this support group is Rebecca Pine, a nine-year breast cancer survivor treated by Westmed. With a focus on self-acceptance, cultivating inner awareness, and reclaiming a sense of wholeness, Rebecca helps guide participants through the process of embracing their inner scars.
