Behavioral Health

Utilizing a holistic approach, the Behavioral Health team collaborates with your Westmed primary care provider to encourage wellness and the development of a healthy lifestyle. Our services include treatment for conditions such as anxiety, stress, grief, mood disorders and pain management.

What We Do

Westmed Behavioral Health offers short-term evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and adults in a warm and welcoming environment. Our team of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Social Workers, and Professional Counselors provide effective treatment for many conditions and life events. This can include depression, anxiety, the birth of a child, the loss of a loved one, family conflict, work stress or a newly diagnosed illness.

Our mental health professionals work collaboratively with patients to develop treatment plans that effectively address conditions in the shortest amount of time possible. This allows patients to quickly get back to their work, family, and enjoying lives. Treatment to address conditions may consist of psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), medication or a combination of both.

At Westmed behavioral health our psychotherapists provide a maximum of 10 sessions for adults and 15 sessions for children and adolescents. Although most patients are treated successfully within this number of sessions, there are those that may require further treatment. If this is the case, our therapists will make suggestions for follow-up treatment with community providers.

Treatment with one of our psychiatrists or advanced practicing nurses entails a maximum of 10 sessions for most patients. After patients are stabilized on their medication they are referred to their primary care provider or pediatrician to maintain and manage their prescriptions. However, if on-going psychiatric care is indicated patients may be referred to a community provider.

Speak to your Westmed primary care provider or pediatrician about a referral to behavioral health. We can help.
