About the Provider

Ms. Tyson received a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Kansas and a master of science degree in social work from Columbia University. She was then awarded a master of science degree in the nurse practitioner program at Yale University’s School of Nursing. She also has post-graduate training in cognitive behavioral therapy from the Beck Institute in Philadelphia, PA.

Before joining Westmed, she worked as a nurse practitioner with the Therapeutic Center for Children and Families in Westport, CT, Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, NY, and at the Pediatric Center of Stamford in Stamford, CT. She worked as a RN for the IICAPS program at Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, CT.

Her area of clinical focus is child, adolescent and adult psychiatry.

If anyone I know needs this type of care, I will definitely recommend them to my current care provider. She is friendly, easy to talk to, and always makes me feel comfortable within her office, or to speak to regarding any problems/decisions I may be having/will encounter. She also gives great advice!
