Dr. Karzai is board certified in general surgery by the American College of Surgeons. She is expertly trained in lumpectomy, mastectomy, nipple sparing mastectomy, axillary lymph node dissection, thyroid lobectomy, total thyroidectomy, parathyroid surgery, cervical neck dissections, and adrenal surgery. She is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. Dr. Karzai treats both benign and malignant diseases. She also sees ‘high-risk’ patients with genetic mutations or a strong family history of cancer.

Dr. Karzai uses a multidisciplinary approach when caring for her patients in order to achieve the best outcome possible. She believes working with her colleagues, both surgical and nonsurgical, is essential in providing adequate care. Dr. Karzai enjoys staying up to date on research and evolving surgical techniques in the rapidly progressing fields of breast and endocrine surgery.
