About the Provider
Dr. Iammatteo is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where she graduated second in her class. She subsequently earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
She completed her internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she also served as a Clinical Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She subsequently completed her allergy and immunology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center.
Prior to joining Westmed, Dr. Iammatteo was an assistant professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an attending physician in the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Montefiore Medical Center, where she developed and served as the director of the Chemotherapy and Biologic Agent Desensitization Program.
Her nationally recognized research focuses on the development of safe protocols for the evaluation of drug allergy. She has a particular interest in the evaluation of penicillin-allergic patients. Two of her first authored-publications were selected as one of the year’s nine best articles published in the field of allergy and immunology at the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology’s annual scientific meetings. Dr. Iammatteo is a manuscript reviewer for The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice. She will serve as faculty at the Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology’s annual meeting in 2020 as a primary panelist on the evaluation of drug-allergic patients. Dr. Iammatteo was featured in the New York Times’ Diagnosis column in October 2019.
She currently serves as the Chief of Allergy and Immunology at Westmed Medical Group.
