About the Provider
Dr. Francella is a board certified internist and gastroenterologist with broad clinical experience in managing inflammatory bowel disease and general gastroenterology disorders. He graduated from the State University of New York College at Oswego with a bachelor of science degree in biology. Then, he was awarded his medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
His areas of special interest include colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, nutrition and inflammatory bowel disease. He joined Westmed in June 2002 and is on the staff of White Plains Hospital and Greenwich Hospital. Dr. Francella is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and other professional medical groups.
Dr. Francella was born in Westchester County and is a long-time resident. He enjoys collecting patent medicine bottles, antique phonographs and radios, and artwork, and is involved with the Larchmont and Mamaroneck Historical Societies.
