We are proud to showcase authentic patient experience star ratings and patient comments on a twelve month rolling basis for our Care Providers to help you decide where and from whom to seek care. We contract with an independent third-party, Press Ganey Associates, the nation’s leading healthcare survey and consulting firm, to conduct patient experience surveys. The ratings, based on hundreds of returned patient surveys that evaluate our Care Providers on ten survey questions, as well as comments posted on our website are based on this data. We believe this feedback will help us to continually improve the quality of care that we provide to our patients, their families, friends, and neighbors. Westmed Medical Group measures all aspects of patient satisfaction. To ensure that we are holding ourselves to the highest standards, we partner with Press Ganey a leading provider of patient experience measurement, performance analytics and strategic advisory solutions for health care organizations across the continuum of care.
For more than 30 years, Press Ganey has been the industry’s recognized leader in improving the patient experience. Today, Press Ganey works with more than 26,000 health care facilities, including over 60 percent of all US hospitals, to help reduce patient suffering and improve the quality, safety, and experience of care.
Who receives the survey?
Patients of Westmed Medical Group are randomly sampled to receive a paper version of the survey. All remaining patients, those not originally selected for the paper survey, are selected to receive an electronic version of the survey, if they have provided a valid email address. Patients then complete the survey, and provide comments regarding specific aspects of care. Responses are measured on a 5-point scale, with 5 being the best score. Results are translated to numeric mean scores 0-100. These scores are then translated to a 5-point star rating scale. We use this feedback to improve all aspects of the clinic experience. Our goal is to provide each patient with an exceptional experience of care.
*Please note: Urgent Care providers use a patient satisfaction survey specific to Urgent Care, which is not part of the Westmed star rating initiative at this time. Additionally, Westmed Hospitalists’ patient satisfaction results are measured by the hospital where they are practicing, and not part of the Westmed star rating initiative. All contract providers, and any non-patient-facing physicians (i.e. Radiologists) and providers by which a patient cannot schedule with directly (i.e. Nurse Practitioners or Physicians Assistants) also will not feature star ratings or patient comments.
