Virtual Breastfeeding Class
June 1 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Westmed Women’s Health and Pediatrics departments strongly support breastfeeding for as long as possible to extend the health benefits for both mother and child. For this reason we are pleased to offer complimentary virtual breastfeeding classes, in partnership with The Parent Collective. These classes are designed to provide Westmed patients evidence-based information about breastfeeding to help them get off to the best possible start. Additional postpartum support will be available with a follow-up class as part of a two-part series.
In addition to the expert facilitators from The Parent Collective, a Westmed Pediatrician, Obstetrician or Westmed Lactation Specialist will also join the class to help you start planning for your breastfeeding experience. In this class you will receive information about topics such as:
- Initiating breastfeeding
- Latching on
- Feeding schedules
- Hunger cues
- Pumping and storing milk
- Formula feeding
Support will also be offered for those who will be breastfeeding twins or breastfeeding with a breast reduction or augmentation.
We recommend you sign-up for the class when you are between 34-36 weeks pregnant. Registration is required as space is limited.
Estas clases tambien estan siendo ofrecidas en español.
*You must be a Westmed patient to register for this class.
