Anthony Viceroy is the chief executive officer of Westmed Medical Group, an award-winning multispecialty outpatient organization, comprised of 500 physicians and advanced care providers and more than 1,500 employees throughout Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
Under Mr. Viceroy’s leadership, Westmed has continued to expand its service offerings and build strategic partnerships to enhance the health and wellness of its patients, and the surrounding community.
As one of 548 Accountable Care Organizations in the United States, Westmed has earned a national reputation for its focus on improving the quality of care for patients, while reducing unnecessary costs in the health care system. According to the CMS Medicare Shared Savings Report (2018 Performance Year) Westmed has ranked within the top 6% nationally for total savings generated, compared to the benchmark, and has achieved savings consistently each year, with more than $40 million in cumulative financial savings for CMS since 2013.
In addition to his focus on maintaining excellence in quality initiatives, Mr. Viceroy has also championed enhancements to the Westmed Patient Experience, and has led the group to achieve an impressive 95th percentile ranking for overall patient satisfaction, when compared regionally against other health care organizations in our community. Further, Westmed has earned repeated industry recognition as one of the “Best Workplaces” in the country by Fortune magazine under his leadership.
Before assuming the position as CEO of Westmed Medical Group in 2015, Mr. Viceroy was president of Westmed Practice Partners, a division of Optum360 (United Health Group). In that role, he directly oversaw all healthcare management services and business operations, including the sale of the management services company to Optum.
Prior to joining Westmed, Mr. Viceroy spent ten years at Omnicom Group, one of the world’s largest global marketing and communications organizations. There, he served as global president and CFO of Porter Novelli, a worldwide public relations firm within Omnicom’s Diversified Agency Services (DAS) division. In this position, Mr. Viceroy led business functions and operations to drive performance improvement and capture efficiency for global brands like HP, McDonald’s, P&G, SXSW, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services as its clients. He joined Porter Novelli from DAS, where he was senior vice president of financial management and client partnership. Earlier in his professional career, Mr. Viceroy served as North American treasurer of the Danish biopharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.
Mr. Viceroy received his MBA in global management and corporate finance from Fordham University, and his BBA in public accounting from Iona College. He holds an executive certificate from Cornell University in Healthcare Leadership. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a charted global management accountant.
Anthony Viceroy is a member of the Board of Advisors for New York Medical College and serves as a member of the board of directors of the Westchester County Association, the Bedford Physicians Risk Retention Group and as a CEO Council Member of the American Medical Group Association (AMGA). Mr. Viceroy also represents Westmed Medical Group as an active member of the Northeast Business Group on Health. Additionally, beginning July 2020, Mr. Viceroy will be a member of the Board of Trustees for Manhattanville College in Harrison, NY.
