| Afya Foundation and WESTMED Announce Collection Drive for Gently Used Baby Items – to Benefit Women in Developing Countries

Afya Foundation, a Yonkers-based global health organization, and WESTMED Medical Group are asking Westchester residents to pitch in with gently used baby supplies for a women’s health initiative in honor of Mother’s Day. The project seeks to save the lives of mothers-to-be in developing countries by supplying “birth kits” to midwives and expectant mothers. Collections sites will be WESTMED’s large medical offices in Yonkers, Rye, White Plains and New Rochelle.

A medical home is a team of doctors and clinicians within a medical practice who work together to provide continuous and comprehensive health care for patients. By providing proactive and ongoing attention, rather than episode-based treatment, doctors in a medical home can provide more efficient and more effective care. |

| WESTMED is One of 89 New Accountable Care Organizations Announced Nationwide by CMS

WESTMED Medical Group, a Purchase-based multi-specialty group medical practice, is one of 89 new ACOs announced nationally today by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). ACOs are organizations formed by groups of doctors and other health care providers that have agreed to work together to coordinate care for people with Medicare. The 89 new ACOs named today will be serving 1.2 million people with Medicare. Nine are in New York State.
