On Sunday, October 16, 2011 WESTMED was once again a proud flagship sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. WESTMED has supported the walk for the past 9 years, encouraging our employees, physicians and patients to turn out for this great community event.
Each year, more than 145 Making Strides walks take place nationwide, serving as the premier event to raise funds and awareness to fight breast cancer. WESTMED had more than 150 walkers at the event this year, and raised more than $8,160 and counting. In addition to participating in the walk, many WESTMED offices held creative fundraising events such as book sales, bake sales, luncheons and 50/50's – all of the proceeds of which were donated to Making Strides.
